Hormonal stimulation of the ovaries<\/h1>\n

The medication is either taken as tablets (usually for 5 days) or injected subcutaneously into the fatty tissue (usually for 10-14 days) by the patient herself. Sometimes stimulation is done with a combination of these methods. Ovulation can be triggered with the help of a hormone injection and thus optimally timed to coincide with sexual intercourse or insemination.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space empty_h=”1″][vc_column_text uncode_shortcode_id=”187077″]Like all medicines, hormone treatments can have side effects. The most common are mood swings, water retention, breast tenderness and headaches. The risks of hormonal stimulation are low. Rarely, overstimulation can occur, and hormonal stimulation can slightly increase the risk of thrombosis. It is therefore important to monitor the reaction of the ovaries by vaginal ultrasound during hormonal stimulation.
